Medical termination

Medical termination is a safe and legal procedure.

You will need to take 2 types of medication for the procedure. You will be guided as to how and when to take these tablets.

You can have the appointment in person at the clinic, where we will take a full medical history, do some blood tests and scan you. You will be required to sign a consent form if you decide to have the treatment. The first tablet will be given to you in the clinic and the second tablet will be given to you to take at home in the next couple of days. We shall also provide pain relief and a pregnancy test to use after 3 weeks.

If you are unable to attend the clinic, you can have a virtual appointment from the comfort of your home. We will then send you the medication by next day delivery along with guidance on how and when to take the tablets.

Pricing:

In clinic* - £600

On line (pill by post) - £450

What to expect:

After the medication, you can expect some vaginal bleeding, cramps and to pass some pregnancy tissue. This commonly occurs within 4 hours but in some cases may occur anywhere between 30 minutes and 48 hours after taking the misoprostol tablets. The bleeding lasts on average for 10 to 16 days and may be heavy.

Most women require no further medication, however, if no bleeding has occurred within 24 hours after taking the second tablet, you should contact the clinic.

Signs and symptoms of the termination

Below is a list of the most common symptoms you may experience as part of the termination process. These symptoms and any risks that may arise from using this treatment.

Vaginal Bleeding:

The onset of bleeding is usually within 4 hours of taking the misoprostol tablets and most women will experience the onset within 48 hours. Bleeding can range from light to heavy, considered more than a typical menstrual period. Bleeding should diminish once the pregnancy is expelled.

Cramping:

Cramping can start within 4 hours of taking the misoprostol tablets but should not last longer than 24hrs.
